This design is inspired by a play on words–the Hebrew word for “Sale”. In Hebrew, the word “sale” (mivtza) has two meanings–the first meaning refers to the application in the world of commerce, consumption, and consumerism. The second means “operation” and is primarily associated with military operations–here’s a long list of them.
As it turns out, we love sales (mivtzas) of all kinds! Below are some examples of some classic Israeli “sale stickers”, followed by a bunch of commonly used typefaces and letterings meaning “sale”.
