Peace Socks celebrate the historic The Egypt–Israel peace treaty signed in Washington, D.C. on 26 March 1979, following the 1978 Camp David Accords. The Egypt–Israel treaty was signed by Egyptian president Anwar Sadat and Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin, and witnessed by United States president Jimmy Carter.

The design is ironically a restored napkin design made in Israel in 1979 by an uncredited designer, found in a auction house ephemera sale.
